NYT Mini Crossword Clues and Answers for Friday, January 10
By Kris Holt
The NYT Mini Crossword is a smaller and quicker version of the famous New York Times Crossword. Most of the time, it has a 5×5 grid with 3-5 clues for each direction (across and down). Sometimes, especially on Saturdays, the grid can be larger.
The Mini is free to play on the NYT website or the NYT Games app. But if you want to access older puzzles, you’ll need an NYT Games subscription.
The Mini is a fun daily activity that doesn’t take much time. Many people try to solve it in under a minute. However, some clues can be tricky, and you might get stuck on one or two. If that happens, here are the answers for Friday’s puzzle (spoiler alert!):

A Tough Mini Puzzle!
This puzzle was bigger than usual for the Mini, and some clues were harder than normal. For example, “Yow” and “What the” were surprising to see as answers. At first, I thought “Lilies” were “Orchids,” which messed me up for a bit. Fun fact: Tiger Orchids are real!
Meryl Streep’s answer was easy to get (she’s a legend), but overall, this was a challenging one.
